I started role playing back in 1980. My younger brother, Toby, and I would spend hours playing Tunnels and Trolls (if I could find enough d6). Back in 2002 I wrote, laid out and did the down loads for 8 d20 Fighting Fantasy coversions for Myriador Ltd. It was at Myriador that I worked with one of my all-time heroes and favorite fantasy artists Martin Mckenna. When Myriador went pear-shaped I started up my own graphic design and type setting company called Jaytype. I specialised in the design and layout of books in the RPG industry. Over 3 years I designed and typeset over 80 books for the likes of Goodman Games, Hogshead Publishing, Cursed Empire and Steampower Publishing.
Greywood Publishing was formed in 2007 by myself and my best friend Ant Lavisher. Ant came up with the Greywood name; it was a beloved town that was the centre of our 'real life' D&D game sessions back in mid 1980s. The initial aim of the company was to produce a 'labour of love' book called Codename: Day of Reckoning, we had been developing it for 5 years but it has taken a back shelf while the Fabled Lands books are being written.
Unfortunatley, Ant left Greywood Publishing to persue his life-long dream of writing a novel and I am VERY pleased to say that this dream is almost a reality. I wish Ant all the best in his writing (he is a FANTASTIC creative writer) but I know he will do well. He has written some creative and inspiring works that I could not write, but wish I could. Good luck old friend :)

I am an Australian games designer who has been gaming since age 10 (more than two thirds of mylife!). I first got into role playing with the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, and then progressed to other gamebook series such as Fabled Lands and many others. I am also ruggedly manly and extremely handsome (yeah right - Jamie).
I grew up playing gamebooks, role-playing games, war games and card games, and started designing games at a young age. My first published effort included articles in magazines, but then went on to help with the Fighting Fantasy d20 conversions. I then wrote the QUERP game system. I have since written various QUERP supplements, the Hammerax world book and is collaborating with Jamie on the Fabled Lands RPG

Phil Thomas
Phil is another Australian game designer, in his early 30’s, juggling a career in Recreation Programs, part-time study, two young kids and wonderful partner and a fledgling RPG-design portfolio. He has been playing tabletop wargames and role-playing games for more than half his life.Phil got involved with gaming back with the original Fighting Fantasy books and the original Blood Bowl, Heroquest and Space Crusade games. He wishes he still had them. Many, many years later he was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons through Shane and the release of 3rd Edition and since meeting his partner, Steph, has been playing a wide range of RPGs, from Shadowrun and Exalted to Pokethulhu and Paranoia, finding something in every game that grabbed his imagination.
Phil was involved as a playtester in the Fighting Fantasy d20 conversions and was given the chance to edit the later QUERP releases. When offered the chance to write (and be published), he jumped at it. QUERP Modern - Heroes was his first release with the hopes of many more to come!
